Bahrain LNG Import Terminal
Verification of Final Acceptance Testing and Defect Rectification
The Bahrain LNG Terminal is a new facility for providing additional gas into the existing Khuff gas network. The overall terminal consists of an FSU, Regasification Platform, Subsea Pipeline to the Onshore Reception / Nitrogen Treatment Facility, and subsea pipeline to the HMS reception facility.
ALP Engineering were engaged to verify the LNG Terminal FATs on behalf of NOGA. Since then, this has been extended to providing general assistance/advice/recommendations regarding completion of outstanding commissioning activities.
The scope was further extended to include a desktop study to verify LNG transfer rates from future trading LNGCs to the permanently moored FSU. The analysis was performed in ALP Engineering’s Aberdeen offices based with support from ALP’s onsite personnel.
ALP reviewed the relevant design data for the equipment, the liquid and vapour pipework and boil off gas management facilities associated with the transfer of LNG from the delivering LNGC to the FSU, including P&IDs and equipment design data sheets. Flow assurance calculations were then executed to confirm the installation is capable of delivering its design flow rate.
